Waste to Resources: Moving towards the Circular Economy
Traditionally, resources have been extracted, used and thrown away. This is a linear business as usual approach which does not capture the full value that our supply chain and materials have to offer and continues to tap into finite resources.
At IQ Energy Australia, we have designed our technology to be part of the Circular Economy, where collaboration and full life cycle systems thinking is the key to close gaps in the circle. With the Circular Economy the aim is to ensure all processes of our supply chain, minimise extraction, keep emissions as low as possible and keep resources in circulation. This approach minimises environmental consequences and moves us towards a more sustainable future. Our focus is to provide scalable technologies that keep wastes as valuable resources to move us away from landfill, burning or polluting the environment as an end point for our materials.
Our technologies can also add value to other parts of the Circular Economy, through augmenting manufacturing and agricultural processes, such as reducing fossil fuels usage, providing significant heat for onsite processes or by working alongside current recycling processes to capture wastes that are currently being missed.
The Circular Economy gives us the tools to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss together, while addressing important social needs. It gives us the power to grow prosperity, jobs, and resilience while cutting greenhouse gas emissions, waste, and pollution.
